Maliciousness on Facebook and Twitter

In a recent article in the New York Times they talked about how malicious programs are ramping through websites like Facebook and Twitter by taking over user accounts and promoting there own wares.

One user after not using his account for several days was contacted by an acquaintance and asked him about the $500 Gift Cards he was promoting on his Twitter account. Being unaware of the whole thing he logged into his Twitter account and found that his account had been hijacked.

Has this happened to you?

In retrospect, it is always a good idea to at least log into your account on a daily basis and review your posts to make sure that what you have posted is truly yours. And also check your followers posts to see if there is anything out of the ordinary going on.

Please read the article in it’s entirty here.

I’d love to hear your comments.
Until next time have a wonderful day.
