Don’t Sell to Me.

Blatant Promotion

by Timothy Caron

Customers hate hype. It’s that simple. We don’t want to hear any more exaggerated and misleading claims that are so typical among online and home TV shopping items.

When you say something make sure you can back it up. So, choose your tag line carefully for they may be your last.

When Wal-Mart started using the slogan “Save Money. Live Better” they made sure they deliver this promise by offering lower prices every day and even match lower prices set by their leading competitors.

You have to blend creativity and capability if you want to make your slogan catchy yet realistic.

Many people just coming on to the Internet Marketing seen commonly make this mistake. They go full steam ahead and fall flat on their face because to don’t have a well thought out plan. Then they wonder why it isn’t working.

Then they move on to the next best and latest thing that they think will make them rich.

I know that I get many visitors to the website (you know who you are) but never comment. This site is for you not me, and I can’t help you if you don’t let me know what’s going on. Plus newcomers to the site like to see comments of what other people are doing to bring brand awareness to their online businesses, so please let others know what you are doing, by posting your insight below.

Also, I’d love your help.
If your a writer who has a passion to help others in the field of Branding, personal or corporate, I’d love for you to join in and write for me on this blog. I might not be able to fill your pockets with all kinds of cash for doing so, but I can help you get exposure. And now-a-days, the more people that know about you and what you can offer, the money will come back 100 fold.

So until next time, what’s up in your neck of the woods.
Have a wonderful day

Why Build a Personal Brand?

Why Build a Personal Brand?
by Timothy Caron

You might already know the answer to this question. There are lots of answers, actually, depending on you, your needs, the way the world has shaped you. Let?s look at just one answer.

The easiest answer is that you might want to be memorable, and you might want to transfer your real world reputation into the online world.

A strong personal brand is a mix of reputation, trust, attention, and execution. You might want to build a brand around being helpful (what I hope my brand means to you), or being a creative thinker (Leonardo DaVinci, for instance) or being a motivator like (Tony Robins), or being a showman (Bill Cosby), or whatever matters most to you, and also what you are capable of sustaining.

A personal brand gives you the ability to stand out in a sea of similar products. In essence, you?re marketing yourself as something different than the rest of the pack.

Do you want this? I don?t know. Do you like to be mixed in with the pack or stand alone? Continue reading

How to Succeed in Branding

How to Succeed in Branding
by Timothy Caron

In my recent short ebook on “What is Branding and How Important is it to Your Marketing Strategy?” (which you can sign up for here)

I mentioned the following:

To succeed in branding you must understand the needs and wants of your customers and prospects. You do this by integrating your brand strategies through your company at every point of public contact.

But this task, is easier said than done.
In the first part of the quote above we talk about understanding the needs and wants of your customer. This is a very crucial step.

A lot of times we think we know what our ideal customer is, and since we’ve already chosen our target market, we also assume that we know what they desire from us. How wrong that is. We must clearly define what our ideal customer is first and foremost.

Let’s take this example of the dating industry.
We all know, that this is a very lucrative industry, but it also has many variations or should I say niche’s. A niche is a subcategory of the main category.

If we do a search on Google just for the word dating we’ll come up with over 181,000,000 results for dating (as of March 17th, 2010), and if we scroll to the bottom of the page we will see a section on Searches related to dating, such as:

Dating advice, dating tips, dating rules, dating games, cupid, online dating, dating services you get what I mean, so there’s no need to go any further with this endless list of possibilities.

What part of the dating niche are we wanting to target?
What do they want?
What do they desire?

We could always, think they want, companionship and love, which is a basic human need, but is that what they truly desire?

Have you really done your research on your target market? Do you really know what they want or are you just assuming they will want what you have to offer?

I’d love to know how you have determined your customers wants and desires.
And if you haven’t sign up to get a copy of my ebook please go here.

Until next time…
Have a wonderful day.

Are you being REAL?

Are you being REAL?
by Timothy Caron

In today’s society and culture, we’ve learned that your image is everything. What you look like in terms of beauty, such as are you big or small, pretty, healthy, fit & trim or even ripped.

And on the internet it’s no different. Whether it be your website, your marketing message, or the article you write to post on the web. Everything we do conveys a message of who we are, or what we want to become.

But are we being Real? Or are we just following what the guru’s tell us.

I’ve noticed that many people who are new to the internet will gravitate toward the next best thing, instead of doing what they do best. Continue reading

Making a Change

Hey Guy’s & Gal’s,

We’re making a change in the scope of our services. For many years I’ve been working behind the scenes in website design and development and it has been a very interesting ride to say the least.

But I have noticed a continuing trend that has been emerging over the last year and that trend is Personal Branding. You can learn more my visiting my main website and filling out your email address on my new mailing list. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you’ll see.

Though I will still be offering my website design services, which include custom wordpress themes, and custom twitter backgrounds I will be switching gears to a more personal relationship with you. To help you build brand awareness for you and your business.

I have noticed that since the start of this blog I have been moving in that direction. Let me explain why.

I have tried very diligently to promote my services for the past few years following all the techniques mentioned by all the guru’s and so called masters of the trade. But low and behold, all the methods that I have tried have failed miserably. So, to make a long story short, I went with my gut instinct and started a different approach.

And all of this is described in detail when you subscribe to my newsletter on my main website.

Many people throughout history, and I did a lot of research on this topic, started their conquest by first being a real person. What I mean by this is, they first started by creating a personal connection with other people on a very simplistic level. No fluff, no hype, just down to earth communication.

All to often, in the pursuit of attaining wealth, we lose sight of this. Then we wonder why we don’t make any money online.

In the coming articles we’ll dig into the personal touch, become real, and get down to the nitty gritty on how we can build that personal relationship with our readers and future customers.

Because when it comes right down to it, it is all about how people perceive you, and then the value that you provide. It has nothing to do with the product or service that you offer. Though some people may disagree with this statement. It really holds true. If you provide the “Real You” and not some phony make believe persona, then people will be more apt to consider your product or service.

I hope that you will join me on this journey.

I would also, love to hear what you have to say about what I’ve mentioned in this post about Personal Branding, and get your thoughts.

Until next time
Tim

Yahoo! Makes Pact with Twitter

Hey Guy’s and Gal’s,

Tim here with an update concerning Yahoo & Twitter. In a recent article from Response This Week Jacqueline mentioned that:

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – In the coming months, Yahoo! will be integrating micro-blog Twitter into nearly all of its products and pages, including Yahoo! Mail, Sports, News, Finance and Search, reports AdAge.com. This step is the latest in Yahoo!’s strategy to integrate the social networking site into its properties rather than compete with it, similar to the deal it made with Facebook in December, which allows users to update their status through Yahoo!.

What do you think this will do for your marketing efforts?
Your can read the rest of the brief article here.

I’d love to hear your comments.
