How Will You Spend Your Money on Cyber Monday?
Hey Guy’s & Gal’s,
We all know that it’s Cyber Monday, where the majority of sales that will take place today will be online, but…
According to Silence and Voice a website I came across this morning Jeffrey says:
Are you aware that today is Cyber Monday, the Monday immediately after Black Friday? The annual online shopping event is now 3 years old, and is all over the media this morning.
Are you aware that today is World AIDS Day, December 1? The annual day of activism and remembrance is now 20 years old, and reminds us that 2.7 million people get infected with HIV each year. Continue reading
Black Friday? What is it?
Hey Guy’s and Gal’s,
I’m hearing and seeing all kinds of advertisements giving away what they call “Black Friday Specials” “Black Friday Deals” special coupons and all kinds of things to try and bring in the Holiday season of shopping. But do we really know what Black Friday is?
I did just a little bit of research to see what I could come up with and you be amazed at what I found. Listed below is just a brief list of what I was able to find by doing a simple search for “What is Black Friday” on google.
- Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. The term dates back to at least 1966, although its usage was primarily on the East coast. …

Are You Having Difficulty Acquiring New Customers?
Hey Guy’s and Gal’s
Tim here with a question for you to consider if you having difficulty acquiring new customers.
Recently I’ve been doing a lot of research on attracting new customers and customer retention.
And here was the question I posed to a few of the people in my circle of influence. Mainly other
freelance website designers.
1. Do you talk with your customers after the project is completed to gain customer loyalty?
2. And if you do talk with your customers after the project is completed, what questions do you ask them and why?
And you know what? None of them spoke with their clients after the project was completed unless the contact was made first by the past client. And on top of that, they charged the client again for updates and revisions to their website.
I found this rather appalling, because I personally don’t work that way. That’s why I charge a retainer for my website design services. (this covers any additional work or updates long after the project is completed to the clients satisfaction.)
I know the economy is tough right now, and we should as business owners, be working toward building more revenue (especially during the holidays) but enough is enough. We shouldn’t as business owners keep charging our customers just for simple updates or revisions.
I don’t know about you and how you conduct business, but I would hope that it is ethical and honest, and your goal is to build loyalty and integrity, not just trying to squeeze every buck you can out of a client. To me that is just not good business.
Do you go over and above the call of duty to make sure that your clients are happy?
Until next time…
Have a wonderful weekend.
Tim
There’s a Fire in the House
Hey Guy’s & Gal’s,
There’s a Fire in the House!!! Run!!
Well, not quite a fire in the house but there’s a new bug on the internet that’s called Fireworm.
Which I just found out from a friend of mine named Brian. Brian Rose is an internet marketing friend of mine that doesn’t normally send out warnings like this, but when it finds something that could potentially create havoc, he let’s all his friends know. And he suggested that I pass it on to you. Way to go Brian. (Oh, you should visit his website too, all kinds of neat internet marketing information, especially when it comes to SEO and Google) Oh btw, this is not an affiliate link.
Here’s the email that he just sent me.

I don’t know about you, but I would be very cautious when using your Social Media Accounts, make sure that you entirely log out of each one and not just close your browser.
