Coatney Shift’s Focus to Tumblr

Coatney Shift’s Focus to Tumblr,

Hey Guy’s and Gal’s,

In a recent article posted on Newsweek in regards to a new rival up against the likes of Facebook and Twitter Mr. Mark Coatney has shifted gears and now works for Tumblr. The article also states that until last month Mr. Coatney was the Senior Editor at Newsweek. He states:

Until last month, Mr. Coatney was a senior editor at Newsweek, where as a side project he headed up the magazine’s social efforts on Twitter and Facebook. Last year he decided to add Tumblr to his repertoire.

“I saw it as an opportunity to talk to our audience in a new way,” he said. On Twitter, he said, “the main feedback comes mostly from retweeting,” or retransmitting an interesting message. On Tumblr, “the tone is a lot more conversational.”

Many big name companies are also joining in on the Tumblr Platform because they believe it is more conversational, and traffic generated from the site is a far better option, in terms of customer loyalty, even though they all get a sizable amount of traffic from both Facebook and Twitter.

I don’t use Tumblr myself, but in light of it being more conversational, I may give it a try. Because if we are to build relationships and provide value to our readers and future customers then we must first and foremost build a relationship with. Simply retweeting, or updating your status really doesn’t allow you to convey a message of sincerity or value.

I’m not sure if you can really call that building a relationship or not, even though I’ve built many a lasting friendship on Twitter.

How many of you actually use Tumblr? And have you found that it has helped in your marketing efforts? I’d love to hear what you have to say.

And just for posting your thoughts about the topic I’ll design a free custom twitter background for you. Just make sure that you give me a shout on my contact form so I don’t forget you.

Tumblr, Twitter or Facebook, what’s your preference?
Have a wonderful day
Tim

Have you tried everything?

Hey Guy’s & Gal’s,

Have you ever wondered why your not making any sales, or your volume of sales were lower than you expected?

Then you get down in the dumps, because you can’t understand why people aren’t flocking to your business in droves? You have a product or service that your target market wants, the price is right, but still their not buying?

You rank high in the search engines, you have an excellent sales letter, your website design and layout are the cat’s meow, but still nothing works?

You’ve tried every method possible?
You’ve tried Social Networking, with Facebook, with Twitter, with Myspace and even Linkedin.
You’ve tried PLR (Private Label Rights)
You’ve tried MLM (Multilevel Marketing)
You’ve tried Article Marketing
You’ve tried Blogging
You’ve tried Magazine Ads.
You’ve tried Classifieds and still nothing seems to work.

Ok, now your probably wondering where I’m going with all of this, well to be honest, everyone, and I mean everyone is searching for the “Golden Key” that will transform their business and their personal lives. But, believe it or not, it’s all about being validated for all your hard work and efforts.

That’s right, validation.

I recently came across Katie’s website at http://www.prosperitychallenge.com/ and it really struck a cord with me. It’s not a well crafted design, a matter of fact is the default theme that comes with wordpress, but it’s impact is right on target

When is the last time you needed to be validated? Check out the short movie below and tell me what you think….

Please stop by Katie’s website and let her know I sent you. I hope you have receive some inspiration from the above video, and please spread the word about Katie’s site.

Enjoy!
Tim

Hey Guy’s and Gal’s in a recent article published: December 12, 2009 by The New York Times it states that…

The government is increasingly monitoring Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites for tax delinquents, copyright infringes and political protesters. A public interest group has filed a lawsuit to learn more about this monitoring, in the hope of starting a national discussion and modifying privacy laws as necessary for the online era.

In the article it continues to state that law enforcement is not saying a lot about its social surveillance, but examples keep coming up. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey Guy’s and Gal’s, have you done your Christmas Shopping yet?

Well all the retailers are vying for your attention on Twitter.

In a recent article by Stephanie Rosenbloom and Karen Cullotta from the New York Times has it all under control.

They stated that Twitter’s first Christmas got underway this past friday or should I say “Black Friday”. (Whereever did they get that term anyway?)

In the past Twitter users simply sent out tweets about what was going on in there lives at that particular moment, now even the giant retailers like Best Buy, The Mall of America, Toys “R Us, J.C. Penney, Staples, The Gap, Bloomingdale’s and Barneys are joining in the Christmas Spirit.

You can read more about what these big time retailers are doing on Twitter by going here.

What do you want for Christmas?

Post it on Twitter, you never know, it may get to you faster than sending a letter to the North Pole. Besides I think Santa may need a break this year. Ho Ho Ho!!!

Until next time, have a wonderful day
Timothy

Hey Guy’s and Gal’s,

In a recent article posted on the New York Times by Marshal Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb, he went into detail about the giants (Google & Microsoft) wanting to buy access to Twitter full array of messages and shared links.

But they are beginning to believe that Twitter may be less valuable than we might think, and that both of these mega giants in the industry have been talking with a variety of real-time web companies in readiness for the upcoming Real-Time Web Summit taking place this week. (Sorry Registration is now closed, but you can read up on it here.) Read the rest of this entry »
