Do you hide behind your product?
We have all heard that if you want to make it big in any work from home business you must personally brand yourself. Get away from hiding behind the product and show the world who you are and what you have to offer. But can we take this too far? Let’s take a few moments to examine the difference between letting your customer know who you are and simply giving too much information.
Now I am all for personal branding and I am a firm believer in the fact that people are inspired by people and not corporations. This is even more accurate in any work from home opportunity. People need to see that the common folk can make this happen. They need to be able to relate to your struggles of not being able to make ends meet and how yourself, with a little hard work were able to make your mark in business. You can watch a spokesperson on TV all day saying how easy something is to, do but when you see Bob and Doris from Walla Walla, Washington replace their yearly income in 9 months, people tend to be more open to an idea.
This is why most companies encourage their people to self brand themselves for the simple reason they have crushed the numbers on human behavior and realize that people not only don’t like big corporations, they simply do not trust them.
So being able to connect with people is by far your greatest asset. It is for this reason that the big players in work from home are usually people that can connect with the average person and have something in common with them. It is for this reason you hear the famous phrase, “if I can do it, anyone can do it.” Trust me on this fact, it is not an accident that so many work from home businesses use this infamous line.
What are you doing to connect with your followers and future customers.
Until next time, have a wonderful day.

Don’t Sell to Me.
Blatant Promotion
by Timothy Caron
Customers hate hype. It’s that simple. We don’t want to hear any more exaggerated and misleading claims that are so typical among online and home TV shopping items.
When you say something make sure you can back it up. So, choose your tag line carefully for they may be your last.
When Wal-Mart started using the slogan “Save Money. Live Better” they made sure they deliver this promise by offering lower prices every day and even match lower prices set by their leading competitors.
You have to blend creativity and capability if you want to make your slogan catchy yet realistic.
Many people just coming on to the Internet Marketing seen commonly make this mistake. They go full steam ahead and fall flat on their face because to don’t have a well thought out plan. Then they wonder why it isn’t working.
Then they move on to the next best and latest thing that they think will make them rich.
I know that I get many visitors to the website (you know who you are) but never comment. This site is for you not me, and I can’t help you if you don’t let me know what’s going on. Plus newcomers to the site like to see comments of what other people are doing to bring brand awareness to their online businesses, so please let others know what you are doing, by posting your insight below.
Also, I’d love your help.
If your a writer who has a passion to help others in the field of Branding, personal or corporate, I’d love for you to join in and write for me on this blog. I might not be able to fill your pockets with all kinds of cash for doing so, but I can help you get exposure. And now-a-days, the more people that know about you and what you can offer, the money will come back 100 fold.
So until next time, what’s up in your neck of the woods.
Have a wonderful day

Why Build a Personal Brand?
Why Build a Personal Brand?
by Timothy Caron
You might already know the answer to this question. There are lots of answers, actually, depending on you, your needs, the way the world has shaped you. Let?s look at just one answer.
The easiest answer is that you might want to be memorable, and you might want to transfer your real world reputation into the online world.
A strong personal brand is a mix of reputation, trust, attention, and execution. You might want to build a brand around being helpful (what I hope my brand means to you), or being a creative thinker (Leonardo DaVinci, for instance) or being a motivator like (Tony Robins), or being a showman (Bill Cosby), or whatever matters most to you, and also what you are capable of sustaining.
A personal brand gives you the ability to stand out in a sea of similar products. In essence, you?re marketing yourself as something different than the rest of the pack.
Do you want this? I don?t know. Do you like to be mixed in with the pack or stand alone? Continue reading

How to Succeed in Branding
How to Succeed in Branding
by Timothy Caron
In my recent short ebook on “What is Branding and How Important is it to Your Marketing Strategy?” (which you can sign up for here)
I mentioned the following:
To succeed in branding you must understand the needs and wants of your customers and prospects. You do this by integrating your brand strategies through your company at every point of public contact.
But this task, is easier said than done.
In the first part of the quote above we talk about understanding the needs and wants of your customer. This is a very crucial step.
A lot of times we think we know what our ideal customer is, and since we’ve already chosen our target market, we also assume that we know what they desire from us. How wrong that is. We must clearly define what our ideal customer is first and foremost.
Let’s take this example of the dating industry.
We all know, that this is a very lucrative industry, but it also has many variations or should I say niche’s. A niche is a subcategory of the main category.
If we do a search on Google just for the word dating we’ll come up with over 181,000,000 results for dating (as of March 17th, 2010), and if we scroll to the bottom of the page we will see a section on Searches related to dating, such as:
Dating advice, dating tips, dating rules, dating games, cupid, online dating, dating services you get what I mean, so there’s no need to go any further with this endless list of possibilities.
What part of the dating niche are we wanting to target?
What do they want?
What do they desire?
We could always, think they want, companionship and love, which is a basic human need, but is that what they truly desire?
Have you really done your research on your target market? Do you really know what they want or are you just assuming they will want what you have to offer?
I’d love to know how you have determined your customers wants and desires.
And if you haven’t sign up to get a copy of my ebook please go here.
Until next time…
Have a wonderful day.
