Is it just a Gimmick? Apples New Aproach to Advertising
Is it just a Gimmick?
- by Timothy Caron
Hey Guy’s and Gal’s, I recently read an article about Apple’s new patent that was filed last year and was recently made public this past month.
Apple as we know is one of the top technology leaders, but in my personal opinion being a pc user, I think this new advancement in advertising by Apple really is going a little bit to far.
In this article Published on November 14th, 2009 by Randall Stross a writer for the NY Times, he talks indepth about this new technology for the pc, phones, televisions, media players and the like, and I would love to know your take on this new form of advertising.
You can find the article here.
Stross writes:
Its distinctive feature is a design that doesn’t simply invite a user to pay attention to an ad — it also compels attention. The technology can freeze the device until the user clicks a button or answers a test question to demonstrate that he or she has dutifully noticed the commercial message. Because this technology would be embedded in the innermost core of the device, the ads could appear on the screen at any time, no matter what one is doing.
Until next time…
Have a wonderful day.
Timothy
PS Don’t forget I’d I’d love to know your thoughts about Apples approach to advertising.
