Are you being REAL?
Are you being REAL?
by Timothy Caron
In today’s society and culture, we’ve learned that your image is everything. What you look like in terms of beauty, such as are you big or small, pretty, healthy, fit & trim or even ripped.
And on the internet it’s no different. Whether it be your website, your marketing message, or the article you write to post on the web. Everything we do conveys a message of who we are, or what we want to become.
But are we being Real? Or are we just following what the guru’s tell us.
I’ve noticed that many people who are new to the internet will gravitate toward the next best thing, instead of doing what they do best.
Nancy Marmolejo of VisiVisibility wrote on her blog recently the following:
1. Be Real.
Message marketing is big right now because people crave connection and a sense of purpose. Make sure your approach is real and authentic and not simply jumping on the “message” bandwagon. The public is smart- never underestimate them. Glorifying a trend (“no trans fat!” on a lollipop) is not marketing around a message.
What I like most about her quote above is “people crave connection and a sense of purpose” and “make sure your approach is real and authentic“. This could not be further from the truth. And she has hit the nail on the head, especially when it comes to branding yourself on the internet.
I’ve also been a firm believer in following your passion, in regards to your life long dreams and endeavors. Doing what you love to do, and helping others to accomplish that dream. And in so doing, why not make a little money in the process.
Does your image portray your passion? If not, why not?
Let us know what you are doing right now to put the passion back into your brand.
Until next time..Live your passion
Tim
