How Should You Use Social Media?

How should you use Social Media?

Or should I say, “How Not to Use Social Media”

Hey guy’s an gal’s, Tim here with an update on what’s happening with the improper use of Twitter and Facebook.

I recently read an article on the NY Times, written By ANDREW JACOBS Published: November 18, 2010, which read “Chinese Woman Imprisoned for Twitter Message”

An excerpt is below:

The woman, Cheng Jianping, 46, was accused of “disturbing social order” for resending a Twitter message from her fiancé that mocked young nationalists who held anti-Japanese rallies in several cities last month. The original message sarcastically goaded protesters to go beyond the smashing of Japanese products and express their fury at the heavily policed expo site. Ms. Cheng added the words: “Charge, angry youth.”

If you read the article in-depth, you’ll see why it’s so important to be careful on what you post on Twitter or even your Facebook Wall.

In this case it’s even more serious, than just posting remarks about your government, or other events that go against the policies of your local country. Many countries ban the use of Twitter and Facebook just for this reason.

Now I know that many of my loyal readers, love to post on what’s happening in the White House and in your local town governments, but please take heed, what you post in these social media websites, if your not careful, can put you in a lot of hot water.

I’m not saying don’t use social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook, just be careful what you post. Once it’s there it’s there for life, and could reflect negatively on you and your business.

Be honest and ethical, and don’t re-tweet something just because you thinks it’s cool, dig a little further into the re-tweet to make sure that it is something that you really want your followers to see.

That’s enough of my ranting for now.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Tim

Why We Do What We Do...

Since early childhood, art and the attention to detail has been the driving force in everything I do, and I have found this to be very beneficial when it comes to website design and development.

But it's not only about the financial rewards, It's seeing an idea develop and become a reality for many of my clients.

From the most simplistic of designs, to the more extravagant and lavish layouts, each one is unique. And is designed with the end user in mind..
